Original Joinery is currently working on this £64.5 million development in the heart of Reading. With a prestigious position overlooking the River Thames, we were delighted to have been selected due to our unrivalled experience in taking a job from a paper drawing and bringing it into fruition. Creating solidly built and crafted buildings – uniquely tailored to precise standards – is what we’re good at.
We gladly pay meticulous attention to every single detail of a project. Working with architects from the very start of our involvement in a development allows us to take their original plans and scrutinise them from a new perspective. So, if there are any design issues that need to be ironed out, Original Joinery can do so before the project commences. We carefully plan every aspect of a project, ensuring that we source only the best products and components for each part of the job.
This is illustrated to the left, where the original architects’ plans have been interpreted down to a more detailed plan for the individual aspects – which Original Joinery are tasked with installing. In this instance, the entrance lobby and vestibule plans have been broken down to show how the works will progress once the fit-in process has started.
Being involved from the outset of this project allowed us to look closely at the materials specified for each part of the fit-out. After looking very closely at the materials proposed for the acoustic wall, we were able to find a higher quality solution that would enhance the wall’s performance. From there, we supplied a detailed dataset outlining a recommendation that the original product be replaced by our alternative, giving the client the chance to amend the orders before works commenced.
Original Joinery are fitting out the entrance lobby and vestibule with a blend of wood and concrete panelling, providing an elegant workspace that is designed to accommodate every aspect of modern office life. This reception area is the first place that visitors will see when they come to 400 Longwater Avenue, so our attention to detail and high quality craftsmanship is something our client absolutely expects – and we always deliver.
